Marijuana as Medicine
Tuesday, October 24, 2017
5:30pm – 7:30pm
Berkshire Athenaeum Auditorium (Pittsfield Library)
More and more people today are turning to medical marijuana as an alternative to pharmaceutical drugs. Learn about the concept of harm reduction and how cannabis is playing a key role as a step-down medication from opiates, amphetamines, and other controlled drugs. This 90-minute program will feature, among others, speakers from Canna Care Docs – which has been on the frontline of medical marijuana theories for opiate addiction, chronic pain, PTSD, depression, cancer, and more. Canna Care Docs certifies individuals with qualifying conditions to enter the state’s medical marijuana program.
Speakers include Dr. Benjamin Caplan – a board-certified family physician and graduate of Williams College and Tufts University School of Medicine – who has worked at some of Boston’s premier healthcare facilities. It includes a panel discussion and audience Q&A.
Refreshments will be served.
